Highlights and evaluation of Lakewood (Wash.) Lakes 2016 defensive end Jared Goldwire from this past weekend…

Recruiting: Interest from Pac-12 programs.

In more ways than one, Lakewood (Wash.) Lakes defensive end Jared Goldwire has a chance to be the next "big" prospect out of Lakes High School. Goldwire is on track to be a highly prospect and a quick glance at his already 6'6" 265lbs frame will make you think 2012 four-star Zach Banner has suited up once again for the Lancers.

Goldwire is still developing, but is showing flashes of something truly special. Just a freshman, Goldwire splits time at defensive end. While his play is not yet dominant, the flexibility and athleticism he shows lead you to believe his ceiling is above high. Goldwire even got time at tight end this past weekend in the playoff matchup with O'Dea. He caught a pass and was more active than he was against Peninsula. The film from below is all the snaps he took against Peninsula. Again, watch not for his dominance in the game, but the truly special blend of size and athleticism that give him a rare potential.
