When you hear the initials AP you may think Associated Press. But down in Longview they don’t think about a news service. They think about a guy who can score a bunch of points with a basketball. And he isn’t a bad quarterback either. Adam Perry is also moving up in the record books.

The senior guard at R.A. Long High School scored 33 in a must-win playoff game Wednesday night. No biggie, he’s had 33 or more plenty of times. But those 33 pushed him past another big time scorer, Gonzaga freshman guard Derek Raivio, into second place among the Great St. Helen’s League’s all-time scoring leaders.

The 33 points pushed Perry’s career number to 1,592 points, passing Raivio’s 1,568.

Perry’s total will grow as the Lumberjacks are still alive in the Southwest Washington District playoffs.

Perry is heading to Western Washington University to play football but you just have to wonder if Vikings basketball coach Brad Jackson may just put a bug in his ear and let him know where Carver Gym is.
