What time is it? State time!

The field is set and the draw has been made for the 2004 Class 4A WIAA/Dairy Farmers of Washington state basketball tournament. The games begin Wednesday, March 10 in the Tacoma Dome and with no clear cut favorite this week should be as good, maybe better, then last week’s 3A tourney. | |||

The top two brackets are almost déjà vu from last year with Bethel and Franklin again opening against each other. And like last year Pasco is in the same quarterfinal bracket with those two. And Kentwood-Davis is a repeat from the Pirate’s last trip to state in 2000 when they lost to the Conqs on opening day. The down side, the way the bracket was drawn you have games on day-1 that very well could have been semifinal match-ups had it been drawn another way. Hey, Franklin-Bethel, Kentwood-Davis or Redmond-Mount Tahoma wouldn’t have been tremendous shockers as title games had the draw gone differently. It promises to be a great week of very competitive basketball. Put some butts in the seats, the emptiness last week was depressing. Game#, Time, Teams #1, 9:00 am, Pasco (19-8) vs. Puyallup (17-8) #2, 10:30 am, Bethel (23-1) vs. Franklin (19-4) #3, 12:00 pm, Central Kitsap (18-6) vs. Walla Walla (19-7) #4, 2:00 pm, Mountlake Terrace (20-4) vs. South Kitsap (18-8) #5, 3:30 pm, Redmond (20-4) vs. Mount Tahoma (23-2) #6, 5:00 pm, Kentwood (22-2) vs. Davis (22-3) #7, 7:00 pm, Bellarmine (16-8) vs. Mount Vernon (20-3) #8, 8:30 pm, Richland (21-5) vs. Auburn (20-5) |
