Vegas, Day-1 scores

Once upon a time it was the Big Time. But things have changed in Las Vegas and instead of adidas having the single largest high school basketball tournament on the planet, the former adidas Big Time, it is now Reebok having the Big Time while adidas has its “Super Sixty-Four" and Nike its “Main Event.” All three are running at the same time and there is certainly not a gym in Clark County, Nevada that is sitting empty this week.

At the adidas tourney Rotary Select hammered Gateway Basketball Club 79-49 in their opener while the younger Rotary-2 squad got it handed to them by Team Houston 80-50.

At the Nike Main Event, Friends of Hoop opened big, taking care of Belmont Shore (CA) 85-74. South Sound Tarheels lost to the San Diego Cougars 55-46. In the Nike U-16 pool FOH Juniors beat True Game (CA) 89-28 while YES lost to Sacramento Classics 64-57. Rotary's entry had a bye in the first round of pool play as their pool had just 3 teams. In the U-15 pool YES got a 59-51 win over the Chicago Demons.

Meanwhile over at the Reebok Big Time Washington teams were taking a beating, going a combined 8-16, as pool play tipped off. Here are the opening day scores from the Big Time:
