3A State, which league's toughest?

Publisher
Posted Mar 6, 2005

Every year there’s the big debate among those of us with no lives regarding which league/leagues are the strongest and the weakest in the state. It’s always good to look back after state and check the numbers.

The league records for the 3A tournament indicate that the “Greaters” were greater in the 3A classification. But we used statistical information to make that determination and remember when it comes to stats, there are lies, damn lies and statistics.

Here’s the breakdown from Class 3A:

League, record at state, winning percentage

Greater St. Helen’s League, 6-2, 75%

Greater Spokane League, 3-1, 75%

Northwest League, 5-3, 62.5%

Metro League, 6-4, 60%

Mid-Valley League, 2-2, 50%

Seamount League, 3-8, 27.2%

Pac-9, 1-4, 20%

KingCo, 0-2, 0%

So for all of you in search of some kind of bragging rights, go ye forth, be fruitful and brag it up. You guys down in that bottom half, hit the gym.
