Polis walking next door to LCC

The first list of Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges (NWAACC) men’s basketball signees has been released. Six players have inked their names to letters of intent to continue their hoops playing in the NWAACC. And one of those will be a two-sport athlete. | |||

Mark Morris’ Mickey Polis will be a two-sport athlete playing both baseball and basketball next door at Lower Columbia. LCC is the two-time defending NWAACC basketball champion. Polis, a three-year starter at point guard, averaged 11ppg with 104 assists to go along with 47 steals for the Class 3A runner-up Monarchs. Others who have signed (listed with their hgt, stats, h/s and college) are: Drew Cavanaugh, 6-3 guard/wing, 16.5ppg, West Valley (Yakima), Wenatchee Valley Anthony Gallagher, 6-7 post/forward, 8.1ppg, 5.5rpg, Rogers (Puyallup) Lower Columbia James Gehring, 6-7 post/forward, 15.6ppg, Castle Rock, Lower Columbia Deng Kuir, 6-8 post/forward, 4.5ppg, WF West, Highline CC Brandon Smith, 6-2 guard, 20ppg, Auburn Riverside, Highline CC Jesse Reeves, 5-10 guard, 11.2 ppg, 6.9 apg, Kings West, Seattle CC |
