A pair of former Washington high school ballers who used to battle each other in KingCo and will soon face each other in the PAC-10 have been impressive down in the Heart of Texas at the Sixth Annual Global Games.

Former Roosevelt Roughrider and current Arizona Wildcat Marcus Williams along with former Franklin Quaker and current Oregon Duck Aaron Brooks have been impressive in the early going of this international competition.

The Global Games features seven teams of players under the age of 21. Williams is playing for the Global Games Select squad while Brooks is on the USA team.

The games are being played in Frisco, Texas, just north of Dallas.

Marcus has been on fire, scoring 26, 32 and 18 points in his first three games. He had 26 in the opening win against Africa and followed that with 32 points in a victory over the Ukraine team. He hit all six of his attempts from outside the arc in those two games and had a double-double with 10 rebounds versus Ukraine. Marcus followed that up with an 18-point effort against Texas.

Here are links to a few photos of Marcus (number-23) at the Global Games.

Aaron Brooks has also shot it well, hitting all 4 shots from beyond the arc and going 7-of-11 from the field. Aaron led Team USA with 11 points in a 102-86 loss to the Dallas Mavericks summer squad in a warm-up game and also hit for 11 in a big win over Ukraine.

Here’s a link to a shot of Aaron (number-5) picking a Ukrainian guy as he drove into the paint. Kid can play some serious D

The Global Games run through Saturday’s medal contests.
