There are a lot of games on the list this week. With playoffs quickly approaching many teams are in do or die situations. Others are contending for league titles and seeding…
Thursday Night
Kentwood @ Federal Way, 7:00pm, Federal Way
This is your best bet for a Thursday night game. Both teams appear to have playoff spots locked down in the SPSL North. Federal Way can move into third place with a win tomorrow night. A Kentwood win would assure them either second or third based on their game with Kentridge.
Friday Night
Issaquah @ #1 Skyline, 7pm, Skyline
This is as heated a rivalry game as any. Skyline looks to be the easy victor on paper. But don’t be fooled, rivalry games are usually tough battles. Issaquah has gotten back on track after some early injuries this season and would love nothing more than to upset their cross town rivals.
#2 Bothell @ Inglemoor, 7pm, Inglemoor
Both teams are undefeated in KingCo play thus far. The winner will lock up the top seed and be headed towards a showdown with Skyline the KingCo title game. I think Bothell is too big up front and overwhelms Inglemoor.
Juanita @ #3 Bellevue , 7pm, Bellevue
Bellevue’s road through the KingCo will be tougher this year than it has ever been. Juanita is the first of two real tough opponents left on their schedule. We will have to see how the Wolverines step up to the challenge.
Central Valley @ #8 Ferris, 8pm, Albi
CV has swept its way through GSL play so far. I think they are in trouble this Friday as they run into a team that is more talented than any they have seen so far this year. A loss could start a landslide for CV as they still have powerful G-Prep on the schedule.
Mead @ Gonzaga Prep, 7pm, G-Prep
G-Prep needs this win if they want to stay in the title hunt. They need to beat Mead tonight and hope that Ferris tops CV. Mead is looking to sneak into the playoffs. A win would really go a long way to assuring them a spot. A loss means they will have to be perfect the rest of the year.
Bellarmine Prep @ Foss, 7pm, Mt. Tahoma Stadium
The last two games on the list are middle of the pack Narrows matches that will greatly affect playoff position. Neither of these first two teams can afford to lose this game. A loss means their season will likely end before the payoffs. The winner keeps the playoff window open.
Gig Harbor @ Wilson, 7pm, Stadium Bowl
Both of these teams are likely headed for the playoffs. GH could use the win to move up the seeding ladder. A win for Wilson keeps alive their slim hope for a Narrows title.
Feel free to let me know how the games you attend go on our message boards. Have a fun weekend of football…
