QB Connor Halliday: Leads Ferris to playoff for playoffs

Future Washington State Cougar Connor Halliday completed 13-of-17 passes for 233 yards and two TDs, including a third-quarter bomb that proved to be the margin of difference, as his Ferris Saxons edged University 28-23 in a GSL nailbiter Friday. The win thrusts both teams into a three-way tie with Gonzaga Prep for the third and final state playoff slot out of Spokane. The three teams, all 5-3, will meet Tuesday in back-to-back mini-games to determine who goes to state. Ferris and G-Prep will square off first and the winner then turns around and plays University. Halliday concluded the regular season with 2,633 air yards -- one of the most prolific seasons in GSL history. He completed 183-of-273 passes and had 25 TD passes versus 8 INTs.

Biography:
Halliday was 170-of-286 for 2,404 yards with 21 touchdowns as a junior in 2008; that marked the 11th-best single-season output in Spokane history. He was also named second-team all-GSL in hoops his junior season. Rated one of the top prep QB prospects on the West Coast for 2010.
